What is FreshLensIAS?

Making serious UPSC preparation more structured, manageable and effective.

UPSC preparation can become extremely overwhelming. Aspirants often get stuck in loops of unstructured preparation for months and years, surrounded by too many sources but without enough clarity on what to do next.

The intent behind FreshLensIAS was to take this problem head-on: to provide sincere candidates with guidance, resources and structure that make preparation easier to navigate.

That mission has led to initiatives such as Current Affairs Clippings, Current Affairs Pathfinders, Laser-Focus Magazines, ACE Prelims and ACE Mains Mentorship, among others.

These initiatives have received an overwhelmingly positive response from aspirants. The Laser-Focus Magazines, in particular, have been noted for their efficacy and strong hit ratio across both Prelims and Mains.

What we offer

Current affairs, from today's newspaper to final revision.

Three connected formats for three different preparation needs: daily coverage, monthly consolidation and high-priority revision.

Current Affairs Clippings

Two newspapers. Only what the examination needs.

Newspaper reading is one of the most recommended yet frequently neglected habits among Civil Services aspirants. It is time-consuming, and identifying what is actually relevant requires considerable effort.

To solve this, FreshLensIAS started Current Affairs Clippings. Relevant articles from leading newspapers such as The Hindu and The Indian Express are handpicked for their UPSC relevance and made available on FreshLensIAS as well as the Clippings by FreshLensIAS Telegram channel.

01

Cover more in less time. Effectively cover two newspapers in the time it would ordinarily take to read one, or even less.

02

Read only what matters. Your focus remains on the most important, examination-relevant developments.

03

Revise easily. Clippings are also shared in a revisable PDF format.

04

Know what to extract. Relevant portions of articles are highlighted so you know what matters in each development.

05

Get monthly compilations. Daily Clippings are compiled at month-end for systematic revision.

Current Affairs Pathfinders

A complete month of current affairs, without a 100-page burden.

Pathfinders extend current affairs coverage beyond The Hindu and The Indian Express by incorporating relevant developments from sources such as Press Information Bureau, Down To Earth, The Times of India and other credible publications.

Current Affairs Pathfinder, January 2026 (Prelims 2027) cover Current Affairs Pathfinder, February 2026 (Prelims 2027) cover Current Affairs Pathfinder, March 2026 (Prelims 2027) cover Current Affairs Pathfinder, April 2026 (Prelims 2027) cover Current Affairs Pathfinder, May 2026 (Prelims 2027) cover Current Affairs Pathfinder, June 2026 (Prelims 2027) cover
Prelims

Prelims Pathfinder

Approximately 37–40 pages each month, covering the most important developments and organised subject-wise for easy reading and revision.

Mains

Mains Pathfinder

Approximately 25–30 pages each month, designed around developments and issues relevant to the demands of the Civil Services Main Examination.

01

Precise

Typically 25–40 pages rather than the 100+ pages common in conventional monthly compilations.

02

Contextual

Topics retain enough background and context to make reading, understanding and finishing the compilation easier.

03

News-article derived

Credible source language and flow are retained as far as possible, keeping coverage close to the way contemporary issues are actually discussed.

04

Visually easy to read

Clean, structured layouts are designed for comfortable reading and repeat revision.

Laser-Focus Magazines

When time is short, read what matters most.

Sometimes the examination is approaching quickly and large portions of current affairs still remain. Laser-Focus Magazines are half-yearly and yearly compilations of the most important developments, prepared separately for the requirements of Prelims and Mains.

01

Highly filtered

Read only the developments considered most important from an examination perspective.

02

Contextual

Important developments are presented with enough context to improve understanding and retention.

03

Time-saving

Cover a large period of current affairs in a relatively short span, especially during final revision.

04

Subject-wise

Related developments from across the year are placed together, strengthening linkages and retention.

Exam relevance

Laser-Focus Magazines have been particularly noted for their efficacy and hit ratio across Prelims and Mains. Detailed examination mappings can be linked here as they are published.

Mentorship

Structure when you need it. Flexibility when you don't.

UPSC preparation can be extremely demanding and overwhelming. Having an experienced person to turn to for guidance and clarity can improve motivation, reduce confusion and provide structure to the preparation process. That is the idea behind the FreshLensIAS Mentorship vertical.

I don't think I could have cleared Prelims alone — it was definitely your hard work too. I used all the GS, CSAT, mapping, current affairs and PYQ resources to the fullest, and they were all top notch and worth it. Thank you for believing in me from the very first mentorship call.
